PITTSBURGH, PA (April 3, 2024): Kennywood, a USA Today 10 Best Theme Park, today revealed park improvements and additions, a new local partnership and brand-new entertainment for its 126th season beginning Saturday, April 20. The park’s upcoming year highlights feature the all-new Potato Smash bumper cars, brand-new food and beverage locations, parkwide enhancements and an all-new special event.

PITTSBURGH, PA [October 30, 2023] – Kennywood– Pittsburgh’s Home for the Holidays – is decking the halls even earlier this year with the biggest and brightest Holiday Lights ever during the park’s 125^th season. The magically merry event will now kick off Saturday, November 18 – one weekend earlier than planned.  Featuring more than two million twinkling lights and the tallest Christmas Tree in Pennsylvania, this year’s event will be highlighted by an all-new Santa experience in Thomas Town™.  

WEST MIFFLIN, PA— November 15, 2022 – Pittsburgh’s Thrill and Entertainment Destination – Kennywood – will take flight next season with a new, out-of-this-world attraction unlike anything else in America. Spinvasion, an intergalactic multi-action spin ride, will blast off as the centerpiece of the all-new Area 412 in the spring of 2023. Spinvasion provides an electrifying combination of speed and gravity, along with its unique single rider experience. 

“Spinvasion is a first of its kind attraction, which offers our guests something they can’t get at any other park in the country,” says Kennywood General Manager Mark Pauls. “This extra-terrestrial thrill ride is the centerpiece of the all-new alien-inspired Area 412 section of the park. Featuring a massive themed ride backdrop, along with a fresh new look to the Cosmic Chaos and an improved retail shop, this is one giant leap for all Kennywood fans and Season Passholders.”

WEST MIFFLIN [MARCH 16, 2022] – Opening Day at Kennywood just got a week closer: Pittsburgh’s Premier Destination for Thrills & Entertainment announced Wednesday that it will open in exactly one month, on Saturday, April 16, for an exclusive Passholder preview. The park will be open for the public starting Easter Sunday, April 17. 

Kennywood’s 2022 season starts a multi-year celebration of the fun that first began in 1898. Park representatives revealed the new Opening Day on Wednesday morning during a construction tour, along with information about a new season-opening event, Swing into Spring, and other exciting elements of the party to celebrate 125 years. 

“From the moment Guests arrive in our parking areas, they will be greeted by a completely refreshed experience,” says Kennywood & Sandcastle General Manager Mark Pauls. “Inside the park, Guests will find major enhancements, all designed with their enjoyment and improved service top of mind. Just as it will take multiple visits to enjoy all the new events we have planned, Guests will need several visits this year to take note of all the upgrades made since the end of last season.”
