Perhaps at the top of my bucket list for the longest time, we finally made the trek to Ferrari World Yas Island to ride Formula Rossa, and Intamin accelerator coaster that reaches top speeds of 149 mph. The irony being that the day we visited the park was the day before Falcon\'s Flight opened in Six Flags Qiddiya City dethroning this coaster. What we found at Ferrari World was much more than just Formula Rossa. This is the top park for thrills in the UAE. It\'s the most impressive of the indoor amusement parks we\'ve been to and the ceiling is so high that it doesn\'t feel like you are confined. Follow along as we take you around this unique park. Manufactured by Vekoma, this attraction distinguished itself with a unique tilt track perched atop a lift hill. The train will come to a full stop in the horizontal position and then be rotated 90* leaving riders staring straight down for a few seconds while the track repositions and reconnects. It\'s a very unique experience. The new attraction is located between Valravn and the train station in a place formerly occupied by the Cedars dorms. This super boomerang coaster from Vekoma is the first of its kind in North America. This coaster is a scaled up version of a family boomerang with larger trains, several launches and even an inversions. It all starts with a swing launch to pick up speed. The coaster then goes through a zero g stall double up segment followed by a zero g stall and a trip straight up a tower. Then you fall backwards doing it all again. The new roller coaster is found in the Movietown / Gotham City section of the park next to Justice League. The coaster\'s entrance is located and in fact reuses some of the queue from the now retired Cyborg attraction. Follow along as we show you more about this new attraction. Rapterra is a launched wing coaster from Bolliger & Mabillard of Switzerland. The roller coaster was constructed in the Jungle X-Pedition section of the park on the former site of Volcano the Blast Coaster. The coaster operates two trains which get launched to 65 miles an hour. The tallest point of the ride is 145 feet in the air and over the course of 3,086 feet of track riders experience 3 inversions. The coaster is fast and features many low to the ground moments enhancing the sense of speed. Thanks to Kings Dominion for having us out. Some of the highlights from this year include new information on these topics: - Happy Friar is getting reimagined featuring a german village inspired exterior and indoor food ordering. - CrossCurrent slides at Cedar Point Shores returns looking to be provided by WhiteWater. - Famous Daves is moving from the Marina to the former Quaker Steak and Lube location next to Castaway Bay. - Perimeter Road will be renamed Resort Drive and will get moved before Opening Day - The 150 years sign in front of the park will be replaced with an evergreen sign. - This year's Live Entertainment lineup will not include an outdoor stage show (with Celebration Plaza being removed), but all three indoor theaters will be used again. - Siren's Curse and Top Thrill 2 will feature free lockers for small items. Metal Detection is coming to Siren's Curse. - New digital signage is being placed around the park. - Snake River Falls and Professor Delbert's Frontier Fling have been removed. Over the course of the trip, we visited theme parks across the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany and Poland. The first stop on the trip was Walibi Holland where we got to see the new Speed Zone Off Road section, get ERT on three of the park\'s coasters and get a behind the scenes tour of the maintenance shed of Untamed. I\'ll try and get these uploaded over time. This update contains photos from most likely my first visit to Dorney Park. The year was 2005 and Hydra the Revenge was the park\'s newest attraction. I managed to get several photos of Laser as well a few other defunct attractions that I\'ll see if you can spot. I largely left this set unedited so excuse some of the blurrier photos. The property is a non-profit resort for critically ill children and their families. Several Central Florida theme park destinations partner with Give Kids the World Village to provide financial support and tickets for excursions. This is a great organization that anyone can volunteer at. On this visit, we were part of an organized tour. We saw lots of new improvements along the way including Tiana\'s Bayou Adventure, remodeling around Haunted Mansion and World of Color ONE. We also took the chance to ride the entire route of the Red Car Trolley ride which will end operation shortly to make way for construction of an expansion of Avengers Campus. We participated in the park\'s annual Phoenix Phall Phunfest coaster enthusiast event which featured morning ERT on Impulse and Twister as well as evening ERT on the Scary Oldies and Phoenix. In between, the park offered other perks including food and snacks. While it was a busy Saturday afternoon, the visit was one of my favorite of the year.
