We say farewell to the Alpine Bobsled
Great Escape Closing Photos Taken: 09/04/2023 Posted: 09/05/2023In this photo update, we visit Six Flags Great Escape in upstate New York to be there for the sendoff of the last operating two-across Intamin Bobsled coaster in the world: Alpine Bobsled. While the ride had previous stints at Six Flags Great America and Six Flags Great Adventure, it found a real home in Great Escape where it operated a faithfully as it could for the past 25 years. As of late, the ride had become more and more finicky to operate and the time to replace it had come.
To celebrate the ride's history, the park invited members of ACE to attend on the coaster's last operating day. We were given some special behind the scenes looks of the attraction and got to ride the ride for our last time.
During the time of our visit, there were other exciting happenings at the park going on as well including the Oktoberfest festival and preparations for FrightFest. Follow along as we take you around the park.

The day of our visit was September 4, 2023 and we were here for the last operating day of Alpine Bobsled.

Great Escape had invited members of ACE to come visit and celebrate the ride's last day. Almost 100 members attended.

We signed an Alpine Bobsled poster that was gifted to the park.

On entry, each guest that day received a limited edition pin featuring Alpine Bobsled.
