We experience the new Lakemont Park

It wasn't too long ago that Lakemont park shut down for the season to reconfigure itself. Since our last visit, there are less rides and more public recreation areas. None-the-less, the park's two classic roller coasters: Skyliner and Leap the Dips are still running well and strong.

The park has transformed itself in the last couple years with new recreation offerings in place of rides.

There are 3 roller coasters still operating at the park. This is Lil' Leaper.

Skyliner is built right next to the Altoona Curve minor league baseball team's stadium.

To be honest, the entire ride seems to be well maintained. From the lift one could see the Pittsburgh Pirates alternate site team practicing (no minors this year).

The Tin Lizzy Antique Cars ride also survived the park's transformation. It has one of the better courses out there.
