In this photo update, we share our impressions from our opening day visit to Waldameer Park in Erie, PA. This season, Waldameer is building its largest water park attraction yet, a ProSlide RocketBLAST water coaster that is being built on top of many of the park's water park attractions. The park is racing to get the attraction open, and while it will miss the opening of the waterpark, it should open up sometime in June.
In other news, Waldameer has recently acquired new land in the form of the Village Mobile Home Park next door. This is of course a move of the future, still breaking news and a bit of a delicate situation.
Around the rides park, the experience remains familiar. Noteworthy additions are an extensive retracking of the final third of Ravine Flyer II and the news that Wipeout will be closed for the season as it awaits parts for a repair.
